I'm no expert but the service writer at my dealer told me to do it around 70000. Told me waiting until 100000 would really raise the risk of having one or two seize in place then break while attempting to remove adding alot of cost to a otherwise simple tuneup. What the hecck I did it.

I've heard of those plugs breaking straight from the factory(on PDI's w/ 5 miles on them). But he is right, the lower the miles, the lower the chance of them breaking. We do them at the dealership with 3/8 air impacts and I've yet to break one. Good luck!

Plugs

had mine changed at 42K, all came out fine with no breakage. Lower the miles, less junk buildup on them so the better chance of them coming out intact.

My 2 cents.

my 3/8 impact has 4 settings on it what do you set yours to when you remove the plugs?

I had mine replaced at 60k and none broke. I used the Champion replacements and they are still working great 20k later.

on both our trucks I had the plugs changed at 50k. All eight came out in one piece on my truck and three broke on my wifes truck. I personally wouldn't go much past 50k.
