pics. of the 51

Here are some better pics. of the 51 i brought home yesterday. I been driving it all day. Runs great and easy to drive. Local law pulled in the store behide me to tell me what a nice truck it was. The paint looks good in the pics. but it needs to be sanded in places and repainted and the woodbed will need replaced BUT it runs/drive/stops GREAT !!!!

Beautiful truck. I wouldn't touch it. I'd just drive it and enjoy it. You got any pics under the hood?

MESSAGE FOR OLD DAN

I guess you know that usaf truck is going to the darkside. I got this one for half the price it would have took me to restore the usaf so if i'm going to put money in that one its going to look COOL & DRIVE fast. already got another visor for it and found some side brackets 2day but i still need a center bracket like in the pic. If anyone can find this i'll pay you a finders fee !!!

Yes you are right i luv it. But the paint has to be fixed. Paint guy owe's me 2 paint jobs for finding and buying frontfenders for his 63 impala and all the sanding work i have put in at the shop. Then i'll be happy with it. MAYBE LOL O ya it don't have a heater in it so got to do that. DID THE 51 COME WITH A MAGIC AIR ?

That's a beautiful truck you got there, Dale. Can't find too many absolutely stock truck any more. If I were you, I wouldn't put a visor on this truck. It would take away from the stock look. Also, to repaint the truck properly would require it to be completely disassembled. I would stay away from that too. What you have is nice now. Maybe a good wax/polish and replace the wood in the bed.

Save the owed paint jobs for the USAF truck and something else.

Just my 2 cents...

I second that motion completely on all accounts. Dale my 49 is very similar, even a little worse than yours. I took a good quality wax and did wonders for mine when I bought it. Unless you're just bound and determined to go to car shows and sit with that thing every weekend, I would NOT touch that paint job. And I think we all kind of know you well enough to know that's not your speed (I heard a rumor about some dude going 100 mph in an F1 the other day. That sounds like a dude who likes to enjoy his trucks and not wipe on them all day long with a big rag. LOL).

Dale....no heart attack here. I am amazed at the number of cool trucks that you are able to find in Georgia!! That is a great addition to your fleet. You're right....I have more $$ into my project truck & I've never driven it. Buying a decent driver could be a good idea.

If you decide to unload the USAF truck, I have three sons in the Air Force.....one of them would probably latch right on to that one (one of them is based at Eglin right up the road from you).

Dan
