Carb swap guys

What did you do with the fuel pump relays to keep them switching with the tank switch? or Is it just a matter of powering them, and the tank switch turns them on with the ground when switching tanks?

I don't have my wiring diagrams with me right now...

You need to hook the relay ground to a constant ground to bypass the ECM. The key supplies power to the relay, and the computer shuts it off.

In theory, you should be able to signal the factory tach to work off the new ignition, I tried to get it working on my 90 but never did, but it also had a ton of electrical gremlins under the dash.... the volts didn't work, and the left turn would cancel the cruise among other things, so I won't say for sure why it never did work the tach. I am going to try on the F350 to get it working on the factory tach.

As long as you run the tach wire to the negative post on the coil it should work just fine.

Thanks! Hope to start on it tonight. Have a 86 351W HO intake, a 600 cfm carb, a hei distributor, return regulater made for carb swaps, and various other odds and ends that I know I will need!

Fuel pressure issues...

I have two regulators, and with both the fuel pressure jumps form 3-10 psi...... Idk why. :s

My only idea is return line restriction.
Anyideas?

I don't know how you set yours up, or which ones you are using, but on mine, I would still get pressure creep. The way I ended up running it was using the a Mr Gasket regulator on the line between the Aeromotive regulator and the carb. I set the main regulator at 9psi, and then used the on inline to the carb to drop the pressure down and hold it steady at the carb.

Well I tried a Professional Products Powerflow regulator, a Jegs brand regulator, and than I just tried two "T"s hooked together so the inlet and return line where all "t"ed together along with the carb, and the gauge. All three ways the fuel pump pulsates and oddly enough I noticed it holds pressure after the pump shuts off, so now I'm going to lay under it and fallow the return line and see if its pinched or kinked somewhere. I do bhave to say it does run good tho. Lol
