Not a real high tech question, but maybe someone knows: I just recieved my f450 6.0L PSD auto trans 4x4. I have an old beer tap handle **** ( a trophy from my wasted college days ) that I've always used on my 4x4's shifters. I can't get my new 4x4 transfer case shifter **** to budge. Is it glued or molded onto the arm?
It's glued on with REALLY GOOD glue. I have an 8 ball on my 5 speed stick. The way I got it off was to take a crescent wrench, wrap the business end with electrical tape to avoid scratches, and pound upward with a small sledge hammer. VERY low tech, but it got the thing off in one piece.

Yes, or a RotoZip, after trying in vein to get both the trans shifter and Tcase *****, i finally gave in. On the shifter **** i used a hack saw. Just stay on an angle that you will not make contact with the actual stick and it came right off. For the Tcase **** I used my RotoZip as there was not enough room for the hack saw. You can adjust the RotoZip depth so it will not contact the stick. In both cases it was very easy but does make a mess and the smell of the plastic burning/melting from being cut can get a little strong. After all that I went to Ford and bought two stock replacement ***** just to have in case, they were only $8 and change a piece.
