95 F350 Emissions Delete
Bought my 95 F350 w/ 460 EFI engine last year & have been driving it for recreational purposes, so not a lot of use. The air (smog) pump and cat. converter were already removed. I want to install headers w/ a completely new exhaust system. Also want to get rid of all the un-necessary emissions equipment under the hood. (Emission testing is not required on this vehicle) Question is.....What can & cannot be removed without causing the computer to malfunction? It already runs extremely rich & only gets about 6-7 MPG. Checked for codes...none. So, I am assuming that this is due to some vacuum leaks and the hack job on the air pump tubing. I don't want to buy & reinstalll all of this equipment, but I also want it to run good & at least 10 MPG would be nice. Any ideas?

I would fix the running rich issue first, then remove the smog stuff to avoid contributing to the rich issue. Defidently check for vaccume leaks. I would also check the O2 sensor they can start to go out and wont throw a code...but check basic sensors, and make sure your plugs (gaps) and wires are all in working order. My F350 460 gets around 12 highway with the 37" tires. Basically same setup as you, mostly stock with cat delete and straight through exhaust.
