tranny problems ????

hey guys thanks for the replies.the problem i am having is when i am driving it is almost like it is running out of gas and it is slow to shift.the fluid is brownish.i took the pan off and put a new filter and some new fluid .re checked and now fluid is brown again.

sounds like you need to have it flushed.

Unless you drained the torque converter when you did your fluid change, you probably only got about 1/4 of the total that's in there.

tranny problems ????

It is real easy to drain the converter on the E4OD. If you crawl under the truck you will see a ruber gromet on the bottom of the bell housing area. if you pop it out you will be looking at the side of the converter. Have someone bump the motor over with the coil wire off till you see the plug. Its a real small treaded plug. i think its a 5/16 or 1/4 socket to set it out. have a big pan ready. It will drain about 8 or 9 quarts. The hole is small so it will take a while. When you changed the fluid did you notice and material stuck to the magnet on the inside of the pan? You can also flush the cooler. They sell cans of flusher that threads onto the tranny cooler lines. I ran 1 can theough each line to make sure it all came out.
