So I decided that since I had recently cut around 38lbs off the front of the ranger by cutting out the factory crossmember (I have a 2x4 box crossmember in the very front for a tie point), I might as well move the radiator back up front so I can race in more classes and more tracks. Now fitting a 31"w x 19"h aluminum radiator back up front in an already cramped compartment isn't easy without more cutting of the stock steel sheetmetal. Out comes the original core support, well, part of it. I cut the support a little wider than the frame width and built an alumimum frame for the radiator to sit in. Screwed it all together for now until I get some argon mix for the welder tomorrow and will weld the framework and weld on new mounting tabs for the radiator. Needless to say, the new mount and radiator weigh less than the big hunk of the original core support i cut out! Now to decide if I want to run just 1 fan for the short time I actually run the truck, or put 2 back on like I had in the rear. Crappy cell phone pic in the dark to show how it fits behind the grill:
Most of the local places I run it isn't. I moved it more for some out of state places I want to race and they all state that radiator must be in factory location and even have a "stock dash" rule.

Still have to pull it all apart and weld in the tank tabs to go to the new core support. Also, thinking if the 1 fan would be enough for the short bursts it will run or should I mount both back up?
Two fans probably. Think if you have back to back runs for some reason, last one to run in one class and first to run in another, etc and you're bogging down in the hole... it's going to get HAWT. Even one good run in a mucky thick pit could over heat you I'd imagine.. if you bog down for whatever reason.
