I got this Ford from my husband's uncle. We have seen nothing like this before. I believe this unit is some sort of truck conversion. It looks real nice, like a suburban, but better.[of course.]
Anyhow, does someone know anything about these conversions? Has Ford/Centurian made a whole bunch of these? We are not in the market for such a big family unit and would like to sell it, except no one knows quite how to price this unit. Any ideas?
Hope to hear from you all soon.

Hi, Cneturian was total aftermarket conversion company, I don't think Ford owned any part. What you saw was stretched Bronco. I know a guy who has a 1990 1/2 version. It has a backseat out of a Econoline Van but the rest is all bronco. The back top is also removable just like a fullsize bronco. Very nice truck. Centurian also made a 1-ton version, which is essentially the same except it had a heavier frame and drivetrain.
I think the first year for this truck was in 1988. They made them right up until 1992, I've never seen a 92-96 version, although I've heard they were made. Centrurian makes Crew Cab Dodges, and other conversions for automakers.
In actuallity, its not a "stretched" Bronco. Centurion took f250 and 350 crew cab short beds, and spliced on the Bronco rear. This in effect gave you the towing ability of a real truck with all of the comforts to haul passengers and gear. With the introduction of the Expedition/Excursion the market for the conversion has fallen off. These were really high dollar conversions made to compete with the Suburban.
The dealer told me that that's essentially what they were called. They look that way to me, but the door's are the same that came on Crew Cab trucks. Either way, we both know what we're talking about.
Help!
My mother has a 1985 Centurian and her husband has passed away. Can you tell me how you finally arrived at a value for this tow vehicle as she wants to sell hers.
I'm pretty sure I've seen a 92-96 version on Ebay before.
Primary rig is Green Thunder:
95' F-150 XLT 4x4, 302, 5 spd, MSD 6A, Flowmaster Exhaust, Sunroof, Clear corners w/ Diamond headlights, CD player with 2 10" subs and some 32" BFG Muds .
Yep, I've seen three or four 92-96 Centuran F-150 crew cabs and they are definately good looking. I've also seen 87-91 and 92-96 four door Broncos, both 1/2 ton and 1 ton. I've heard they made 80-86's, but never seen one.
Great site! The link wouldn't work till I took out "photos" at the beginning. There's some really neat trucks there. I really like the 79 conversion. But I didn't see an 80-86 :-( .
One of the members has a '84 Centurion set up to run duels or race slicks, blown 351 under the hood. It's in one of the folders, but I can't find it.
Centurion, Metropolitan, Magnum, all made versions of the 4door. Plus some homemade ones too. Picador on the site is one of them.
Value is pretty much what you can get for it. Both the 1/2 and 1 ton usually run high book of what a standard Crewcab goes for.
I bought my '94 C-150 for 8K, a similar '93 I was looking at finally went for 13K. It all depends on how bad somebody want's the truck.
There is a '91 here in Boise with a Vortech and 138k miles up for sale @ $8,000 obo. If I didn't already have 2 I'd buy it.
