Unhappy No pedal Responce

Fist off,let me say I have been lurking for the last few days,,,what a wealth of information,,great site!!!
Hopefully you guys or gals can help me with my problem!

The pedal was feeling "spongy" the other day headed home from work,so I changed the fuel filters about 4000 back, but figured what the heck, and I got some new ones and changed them. Drove down to the gas station,,ran great!!! Got back in after $105 bucks worth,,and no responce from the pedal at all,,,,time for a new throttle positioning sensor,(gas pedal) next day, bolted it on,,Ran Great!! went on to work next morning,,got to the stop sign,,,no pedal responce,,,idled into a drive way,,shut it off and tried to restart about 6 times,on the 7th,started right up,pedal came back,,went to work,,after work,,same,, no pedal,,about 6 more times, tried on the 7th time it started up,pedal came back to life,,drove home,,,got on this site and started reading the information here,,what a bunch!!!! and Thank you a bunch!!!

Finally decided to replace the cam positioning sensor,,,$40 bucks later and 600 cuts to the arm, lost 4 qts. of blood,,,but ran Great,,until tonight

went to go get a pizza about 2 miles down the road and before I shut the truck off I noticed the pedal was spongy reacting and when I got to the parking lot,,the tach was flucuating about 100 rpm down and 100 back positive of normal idle,,,when I came back out with pizza in hand,,,no start or pedal,,,cranked about 4 times,,on the 5th it started,,the pedal comes back to life, and I drive home,I am at my wits end,,,I feel like it is electrical,,but don't know where to go to from here

I don't have a scanner, but no CEL is coming on either,,,

this is on a 04 F250 FX4 loaded, that is as clean as a whistle,,92000 with the fluides changed on a regular bases
you can eat off the engine and I pull a 28'TT as I travel to work away from home,( live in Weatherford TX,Work in Beaumont TX)

sorry for the long winded post,,but I need some advice before I give in and take it to the dealership for a true beating!!!

Thank you inadvance for your time and knowledge,,,Tommmy

you could have a cel with no light
go to autoparts store they scan for free

I use this
www.scangauge.com
you need some kinda gauge

I would check the ICP volts and IPR make shure the hpo system is ok

The Injector Control (P I don't know) is on the right hand valve cover in the front, it is a sensor for the high pressure oil pump that tells the injectors how much fuel to dump in the cylinder I was told,,and I could only find them at the Ford Dealership,,, Hope this helps

ICP= injector control pressure

this sensor monitors HPO= high pressure oil and sends info to pcm to control the IPR [ injector pressure regulator]

2006 is in the passenger valve cover IIRC

have you scanned it for codes

Scanned for codes and got none... Actually found some info on this after I posted... Went to my local lincoln dealer and picked up the ICP and pigtail if anyone is interested dealer cost is $112.50 on the ICP and $62.39 on the pig tail. Gonna put in the sensor today and see if that solves the issue...

As for the pig tail, does anyone know why it gets replaced? Is there a bad crimp on it you're suppose to cut out, or do they melt? Whats the issue there...
