Spot Light Install

I just got a spot light from the scrapyard for my '66. Does anybody have a template or measurements of were to drill the holes at?

The spotlight is available brand new from Unity (unityusa.com), the manufacturer Ford bought them from. Both right and left sides are available.

The shaft fits thru the dash, the chrome bracket mounts on the left (or right) cowl panel.

Did you remove this spotlight from the truck, or was it off the truck and someone "claimed" it fits a 1966?

There are a gazillion different spotlights because...the same style has been available since the 1930's for cars/trucks and boats.

The shafts are specific lengths for the applications, as are the myriad brackets. Some spotlights include a rear view mirror, some do not.

I pulled it from a truck in the salvage yard. Would my best bet be to try and measure the hole in from the parts truck?

Yes, that would be the best bet,

make sure you share the info, because this is not the first time the question has come up.

Do your best to make a template from the parts truck. Using faded paint, wear marks, tracing paper, tape measure and anything else you can use to make a good template from. Measure on the cowl from here to there. Here's where tracing paper comes in handy. Hopefully you understand what I'm getting at. Good luck

Wide masking tape also works good....stick it over the holes, (make some reference marks at the edges) mark with a sharpie. Then peel and stick to your truck in the same place.

Also, I have a spotlight on my '62 if you need some pics....
