The alarm keeps going off for no reason
#16
Did this issue get resolved and if so, what did you do? I was at dinner tonight and my neighbor called me to tell me that my alarm was going off. Then she said it stopped. And then started again. I came home and turned it off. 2 mintues later it started again. So I shut it off......then it came on AGAIN. Its been quiet for about 15 minutes now because I have not put the alarm on.. (its getting late) Just wondering if there is anything I can do.

I did nothing to fix it. Has not done it in awhile until Wednesday afternoon in the Safeway parking lot in Seattle. I'm sitting in the truck and the alarm goes off, shut it off with the FOB and it hasn't happened again. I suspect it was someone with the same coded FOB setting their alarm. I just love computers. A buddy at the local Ford dealer said to disconnect the battery overnight and see if that helps or to unplug the alarm box overnight.

It's back. Now that fall has decended, the alarm going off has returned. Done it 3 times now and just now I am the only one home and the key were laying on my deck in plain sight so the button was not pushed by accident. So I am back to square one, with a haunted truck. Is there a way to shut it off.

Having the same issue
Any help on this issue would be appreciated I have a 97 F250LD that has a random alarm issue to. Truck has a factory alarm system and I do not even have to arm it, doors 100% unlocked, can even check that the thief light does not light up on the dash with exiting the truck and it will randomly go of. At this point I would even take advise on where to find the gem and what wires to cut to fully disable the activation and triggering system.

my 1995 F-150 just now did it...I was sitting in the truck with the door open, looking for something in the supercab part...alarm went off. The remote entry fob was in the house, not even in my pocket. I went inside to get it, pushed the "panic" button and still going off(actually got louder) . I punched the "lock" button on the fob and it quit. Maybe having the door open triggers it somehow? That's why I googled this and ended up on here...

Try testing the truck battery cells. My 05 Mustang with factory alarm would go off at different times whenever. I tested the battery cells after a recharge one day as the car wouldn't start on a minus 30 day. Two cells didn't meet the specific gravity test so I replaced it. Haven't had a problem with the alarm since. Go figure.

Do you have a second key fob? Take battery out of the one you usually use and use your second fob. The 1st fob may have buttons partially stuck. If problem is still there at least you know the fob isn't causing the problem.
Hood switch's may also cause problems. just a couple of suggestions

The alarm on my 2011 F-250 Super Duty just activated in my driveway. The truck has not been entered since last night. It was locked with no one around, keys were in my jacket pocket that I was not wearing. I retrieved my keys and the alarm stopped before I could use the fob. It sounded for about 30-45 seconds.
