Just got done installing 4 guage pod in my 2004 6.0. I installed a trans temp, boost, and 2 egt guages 1 in each exhaust manifold so I can watch both banks. I need to know my ranges.
max egt, max boost, and were the trans temp runs
I have my max egt set at 1,250*; some go higher and say short burst of 1,500 no problem. I prefer the big rig philosphy of 1,200 is too hot. The boost max is 30 again this is a safe zone for non studded, anything higher and something is not right. Trans temp. should run around 165*even in hot weather towing, mine seldom goes much above 169* but I set my alarm at 225* the danger zone for shorting the life of the trans. jmo. Doug.

Come down to the South and that 169°F won't last long at all, particularly during this time of year and that's just for regular unloading driving a good 10 miles one way (sometimes less).

Thats probably very true. We use to see a lot of 113 deg. days but the last 10 yrs. It is the low 100's for our high. I did some hiway paving in Austin back in '87 and yeah it was quite warm there...lol..But I really enjoyed working there, it's a great area but I suppose all of Texas is pretty cool..
