Alright how many think that there is too much coverage of this war?
Do you think that this coverage is giving our enemies information on our plans?
Remember this is their country.
They probably now it well. Small landmarks in the background could be meaningless to us but not them. It could pinpoint a location very easily. Just think about it.
How may times have you given directions to someone using a tree, post, hill, road curve, rock, or any other landmark?
I know that the feed pictures don't show much of the area to us but it may mean a...lot to the bad guys.
Also i pray to god that these families that have lost members to this war have found out by a military official and not through the news. That is no way to find out.
I think the coverage is excellent. Just because it is on doesnt mean you have to watch it. In a country such as ours we have the choice and freedom to watch a variety of programming. People have varying schedules and need to hjave access to information at different times. That is why the all news channels have become to sucessful in the market. For the first time in history we can watch world changing events taking place live and in color. I say to the people providing this information...Keep up the Good Work.
For myself, I think there is to much, but I understand the situation. If I don't feel like watching it, I change the channel or go do something else. I am sure there are others that feel there is not enough coverage.
Way too much of this kind of coverage. I think broadcast TV is way too liberal Democrat to be impartial and report just the news.
They are now saying, We advanced 100 miles and we fired a ...
They didn't do didley, they reported it. ASAIK they might cost lives just being there. I would never vote to embed them, nor would I suggest you show actual war to your wives and children, but I want more coverage.

News people are suppose to cover the news for the public and all...We all know that...
But why cover so much on the war..We need to let the experts worry about the war so they can do what needs to be done to make sure the job is done safely and without harm to our soldiers.....
And one thing I like to know is why they cover the anti-war protesters so much..I mean really who cares about them????They are only hurting the nation as a whole and are dividing us...At times like these we need to stick together and be one,and not seperated..
I voted too much for one reason (as I see it anyway). First, let me say that I think event coverage is great. The problem is, when they don't have anything new to say, they keep rehashing the same old stuff over and over again forcing us to sort through the chaff to get to the actual news.
It appears to me that all there is to report on each days events could be handled in an hour or so and the broadcast repeated two or three times a day to provide accessability to everyone. The time in between these broadcasts can then be used to present the rest of the news from around the world (which, the last time I checked, had not stopped pending the outcome of this war).
Now, before the flame war starts (not my intention) - I support our President, I support our Troops and I am proud to be an American!
They aren't allowed to air anything until it goes through military officials ok first, so I don't think it puts our soldiers in any kind of danger. I do get tired of them announcing something before it is confirmed, but I guess they do that so on the few occasions they are right, they can say they had it first. I like the fact it's on all the time as I have school and work, so don't get to see TV until about 10 PM. It's good background noise to fall asleep to as well
What I like is they are finally starting to show local people who think the war is just, that use to actually live in Iraq.
Like one guy, an Iraqi soldier P.O.W. who moved to Atlanta GA, that now has a job working in a grocery store, living a far better life than he ever did in Iraq.
Or the many Iraqi women telling us, in plain English, the horrible things S.H. and his sons had done to them and how they hope he gets his in return.
I was never in the military and the thing I do not like is the expection of the war not being fast enough or us not having enough troops over there. I assume by the time someone makes General, after spending decades of service to the country, they just might have more knowledge and experience killing people than I do or any journalist.
Killing people is a serious and sad business and what I pray for is for God to let our leaders make the right decisions with the min. loss of life on our side and to finally wipe the evil from Iraq and free their necks from the heel of evil crushing them to death.
I do not want more coverage, I want balanced coverage.
I want to see interviews with Iraqi people that live here or over there that know what suffering is. Or from former American POWs. Not interviews with the Michael Moores and Sean Penns of the world who's worse suffering is how much they pay their lawyers or cleaning staff.

Tough call. I mean, it's a little annoying at times. I mean, when theres nothing new really happening, they're just recovering everything they've been saying for 12 hours. And it's on every affiliated channel. OK, there's nothing new, put a damn program back on for a while, and break out when something happens. Maybe I just have a short attention span....
On the upside, I haven't heard anybody blabbing on endlessly about some reality TV crap in weeks, gotta love that!! Thank you President Bush, for silencing, even temporarily, all these Survivor freaks.
Then again, I'd rather they were dropping bombs in MY YARD than watch any of that stuff, so I guess I'm not the best one to ask.
how do you feel about the media covering the war. Do they tell to much?
Are they hurting the coalition by being so current in their updates?
Is Iraq watching CNN on a satalite dish and getting war info on troop deployments?
a deeper question would be: is the Pentagon and the White House using the press to convey false info IF the iraqi brass is trying to gather their intel from CNN?-which, if i may say so myself, is a great way to gather intel.
the answer( in my opinion): yup.
btw, they arent allowed to disclose their(the reporters) location and the whole world knows that since Turkey floundered, the coalition has to bring the Mech. units up from the south while airdropping the 82nd into the north.
hurt the coalition? nah. what Gen. Franks is doing is classic military stratagy aided by overwhelming force and superior technology.
