found a funny heaven

I stopped by my father inlaws place last night and he said his friend wanted to get an old bus going. So I call the guy and find out its a 59 F600 school bus. Ok, Its a yblock V8.

So I swing by to see if the motor is turning (it was) and look around this guy has 5 Y powered trucks and three flattie trucks.
36, 38, 40, 56, 58, two 59s, and a 60!

If you are a fan of tractors as well he has a AC monarch crawler three JD Rs, an LA John Deere, and alot more.

He started one of the Rs for me.

What a funny heaven.

Got the engine to turn with the starter, got spark coming from the coil. Lots of ignition and ground shorts. The plug wires are out of a mechanics nightmare. the coil was shot but the points and rotor were nearly new! Bad rotten ground cable and there is a short between the ignition switch and the coil somwhere. My multitester was dead and I did not have a 9V so I was stuck with a test light. Set them at .016 as a field setting. Does anyone know what the points shold be at on a 1959 F600 292?
I got a set of wires and plugs coming and will rebuild the carb which was full of nice powdery lead. Literaly full.

The point gap is .014 to .016.
