t-18 identify
I looked through the search and found everything but the answer to my question.
Can someone identify this t-18 by the tag on the top cover?
I am looking for a close ratio box with the 1:41 third gear.
It is cast iron,pto on pass side, and 2wd.
The tag reads:
D5T3 AAATE 0952
3 01-231 17047
I am looking at buying it but would like to know more about it before I ride 60 miles to look at it. I tried to get the owner to check the ratio by turning the input and counting with it in 1st but he doesnt have a clue about that so I asked him about the tag numbers and that ^^^^ is what he gave me .

Some info here. Look for the numbers/letters cast into the case, and the general description. You are looking for "1301" cast into it:

The Borg-Warner T18 & T19 Transmissions - Novak Conversions
According to that, the 3rd gear ratio you are looking for is in a T19.
