OK first of all I am a first time owner of a diesel so I have been looking thru the threads and some really good info....First ? Does anyone have a good maintenance spreadsheet to help me keep up on all the maintenance stuff? Secondly I need all new rubber boots on my steering joints, nothing has grease nipples either so I am assuming it's all stock so should I just replace all the joints or can I do just the dust boots? Lastly what is so great about MOOG? Oh I guess I should tell ya its an 06 F-250 CC SD 4x4 FX4 Lariat

Reason: lacking info
You'll get better factual information on your engine questions quicker in the 6.0L forum, mainly because most every question has been rehashed a dozen times so you can just read the responses instead of waiting for them. If I remember correctly bismic has the 6.0L spreadsheets, you can PM him and he'll get them to you.
Pay attention to threads about getting gauges and catching warning signs about the oil cooler early. Easy to prevent, and can cause thousands in damage and cascading failures if you don't. Changing all the fluids will give you a good base-line going forward on your maintenance schedules, just make sure you read on here about replaceing each fluid before you do it, because some have a process involved that isn't intuative, like a VC9 flush when changing the coolant, or changing the oil filter first because it'll drain unfiltered oil to the crankcase.
What's the milage and condition of the truck? If the steering is tight and not poping or making noise, you'd probably be fine with replaceing any boots you can, plus flushing Synthetic ATF throught the powersteering, maybe putting in a filter, and calling it good. Just did that on my '07, made a noticable difference: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/8...ing-flush.html
If you decide to go for replacing everything, do everything you can at once, like steering, brakes, ball joints, hubs, shocks, it's pretty simple to tear it all down to do everything, but peicemealing it becomes a pain because you take the same few components off frequently to access the deeper parts.
Moog has a good repuation as a quality replacement part, and normally is end-user greaseable, meaning its a huge improvement over stock designs. Plus last time I bought a Moog product (an upper control arm/BJ for an F-150), it was half as much as the Ford part through a dealership.
Thanks I did get the spreadsheets and is a little overwhelming with all the information but is good stuff. Was looking for something with mileage boxes to check off as I go and what needs done at those miles.
It has 112xxx miles and is excellent condition. All the steering is still really tight with no play it just bugs me that all the rubber boots are cracked and could cause a problem in the future. Now that I have seen them like that I will have to do something. Is there a way to get just the dust boots? Would you NOT suggest the Orielly's house brand Master Pro as far as the ball joints?
