I pulled the panel out on the rear drivers side door. Lift up on the rear part of the panel and pull up/back, very easy to remove. I'm assuming the driver door is the same.
Removal is the same... However you will find that the switches at the driver position are not a single switch like all the other doors. The switches are "banked" (4 for CC's and 2 for RC's and SC's) at the driver position and not able to be replaced individually.
Just a quick update for those who were interested in this possible mod...
1-Touch Up/Down Driver/Passenger front windows will NOT be making it into the MY12 Super Duty as originally planned. Both US and Canada order guides have changed this back to the 1-Touch Down Driver Window as you all have now...
Yeah I saw that. I guess I was thinking more along the lines of opening up the door panel and just switching the wiring from one switch to the other just to see if it would even work, rather than actually replacing the switches. If it would work, I know the driver's door switches are as you say they are, but would it be possible to use an auto-down single switch from an F-150 for other doors that have only a single switch? I drove an F-150 Limited the other day and thought it had auto-down on both front windows.
If the switch from the F150 would fit into the door handle, I think it would work. I'm not positive but I think the switch does all the work and has nothing to do with the motor. Now the only thing that it might do is not let the window go all the way down if the Super Duty windows are bigger or mess up the motor if they are shorter. I would think it is a time duration that it keeps power to the motor. Just a thought.

What are the 12 changes? The standard Lariot running boards have gone away too
You guys are really that Lazy????.....LMAO!!! Push button and HOLD!!!
I mean really??????

It is NOT a matter of being lazy but rather a matter of trying to do to many things at one time. I like being able to hit the switch and move onto doing something else.
The feature works great on the wife's $30k Chevy so if I could figure out a way to make it work on my $60k Ford it would be a nice feature to have.
I remember Televisions before remote contols andwe had only 3 channels.
Man, how times have changed, I'm only 43 years old,BTW.

I took it as a joke. And I see his point to and it's not that we are lazy but just certain comforts we have come accustom too and like. And I think that is why we spend so much money on these trucks, to be comfortable and I guess lazy.
I remember taking the switch apart in my '04 and the auto down switch worked like a circuit breaker. When the switch was pushed all the way down, it caught on a metal strip and when the window was all the way down, the current draw tripped the metal catch allowing the switch to go to the center off position. The way the circuit breaker part was attached to the switch, there was no way to add the parts to the passenger side switch because there was no room between the switches. I gave up at that point and never tried to do this mod. If there is a switch that comes from some other ford product that has auto down on the passenger side, it may be possible to swap the guts out so to speak. The trick is that the passenger side switch has to be made to mirror the driver side switch. I hope I have made my thoughts clear as mud.
I'm waiting until Ford installs a MTCM (Mental Telepathy Control Module). Just think what I want the truck to do and it will do it... Want cruise set at 55? Just think it.
Too bad this feature won't be available. It sure would be nice to tap all 4 switches when getting into that sun baked truck. It sure has been HOT this summer!
