Working on a '62 F100 223 6cyl here. It has a PCV valve in the rear of the valve cover with a hose that runs to a port in the intake manifold just under the carb. There are two ports there, the other has a plug/bolt in it.
I believe this may have been a conversion done later in its life? The hose is cobbled together with two different sized hoses and numerous hose clamps. The shop manual shows a tube running from the carb to a spot on the rear of the driver's side of the block about halfway up from bottom to top. On my truck there is a hole there, looks to be about 1" in diameter and it's open, no plug or anything just waiting to be filled with water and dirt.
So which way should I go here, fix the valve cover setup and plug the hole in the block or replace the block setup and plug the valve cover hole?
