CODE P0299 TURBO UNDERBOOST
can anyone help me out with this code P0299 i have read in the forums and see alot of different issue on this 
so now i really hate going to the dealer but if i have no choice then i dont,, so i come to you the experts for some help 
i have a 2004 f350 superduty 6.0 4x4 with afe air intake, edge with atitude, since i bought it brand new no problems except the egr cooler ouch!!! lol,, i have 106000 mi on it!! is the turbo still under warranty i dont have the extended warranty i had 5yr 100000 what kind of damage am i looking at $$$$ is there another way to fix this???

If your egr cooler went out chances are your oil coolers plugged up.do you have gauges that you can see engine oil temp with?. If you're decent with a wrench the turbo is a simple removal and cleaning process.what happens is the unison ring that controls the amount exhaust through the turbo sticks,causing an overboost-underboost condition.you can also check your ebp sensor and make sure its not plugged.check out the 6l bible and tech folder,great stuff there.

P0299 can be a lot of things. Sticky turbo, boost or exhaust leak, plugged MAP sensor line, plugged EBP sensor tube. It's kind of a catch all for several things. Go over all your plumbing carefully and check for split boots, tubes and leaks. Clean your EGR valve, map sensor tube and it's intake nipple, and EBP sensor tube--very simple things you can do before you go to a dealer. There are instructions in the tech folder at the beginning of the folder for cleaning the turbo (and a LOT of other info). Your warranty is and has been gone for a while.
