Gasket?

I am looking for the gasket that goes on the bottom of the air filter pan, not sure if that is the right name but the pan that the air filter sits in. I have been to several auto parts stores and they have no idea about it and I also called ford directly and they said that they dont even make the air filter pan anymore. Anyone know where I could possibly get one of these gaskets? mine is chunking out. I am evening willing to buy the whole air pan if thats what it takes

Thanks

Get a piece of gasket paper and cut it out yourself. Paper is easy to find...

Just go to the same auto parts store and ask for an intake gasket that will fit a 5 1/8" neck and they will have something i am sure. lots of hotrods with the large neck carbs use them. All of those edlebrock and k&n top mount filter assemblys use that same kind of gasket, all for that 5-1/8" neck. should work perfect for you.

Is there supposed to be a gasket there?? I don't remember seeing one on my truck, or my spare engine. I thought the NA filter pan just sits on top and is held in place by the bolt, not needing a tight seal.
There is a gasket (flat o-ring) that goes under the intake hat for a turbo.

No it isnt a critical element. But the more dirt particles you can keep out the better. Especially if you have dings or dents in the lip of the air filter neck. The tighter the seal is, the better you will be.
