Im currently redoeing the interior on my 1993 F-150 its the standard cab, short bed 4x4, im wanting to do an aluminium dash with after market gauges, i was hoping someone could point me in the right direction for gauges or gauge clusters that will plug right into where the old ones come out. Any help is appreciated.
You would think that some company would have a complete after market gauge panel for one of the most popular vehicles ever produced but I have never found one.
LMC trucks has complete stock gauges for the 93 F series but at over $300. for a speedo you will need to second mortgage your home. There are some gauge restoration places but they are also over there in $$$.
There are some very nice aftermarket gauges. I like VDO and have some on a farm tractor I have rebuilt. The old IH used normal 2 and 1/16 round gauges so they were an easy fit.
I put an elcheapo gauge for Orielly on a riding lawn mower at $15. it was a good deal.
So fab up a gauge panel using VDO or Autometer for the F Series and be the first!!!
I have a tach in our old F350 so include one! Also an analog hour meter if you can find room.
I would start out with a piece of 16 gauge stainless steel with suitable holes punched.
Good luck.
Thanks, i kinda figured id end up having to fab myself, but was hoping for something done up already, oh well... I appreciate the advice, and as soon as i get something worked up in the next few weeks ill post some pictures.
