I played with the ones on my 09, it is just the way they are. Not near as good as the 05 to 07's were. It may have to do with them being lower now. I also noticed with the lower mounting of the lights on the 08-10 trucks is they are much more sensitive to changes in load (ie hooking to a trailer) than the older trucks were due to the lower angle they meet the road at, when you think about this one it only makes sense due to the geometry behind it.

Yeah I have seen in other threads where people don't like the turn signal on top. If it was I think they would be too high and shine in other drivers eyes. I already get flashed now without a trailer hooked up, I would not want mine higher.

Ok guess I need to be more specific, When I say" they are awefull" Let me rephraze that. You see I drove a 2001 F250 V10 for years Loved that truck! These headlights have a destinct dark line at the top, like they are blocked along the top edge hard to describe. I'm certin the government has something to do with this. The line along the top shortens the distance that the light goes. I have the factory driving lights also and love them.
I checked, and they are adjusted according to the owners manual fine. If I change out the bulbs do you think the black line at the top will go away?
thanks guys.

You could try that but I doubt that there is a line on the bulb. The lights are probably hitting the upper portion of the lens, causing your black line. And my guess it is a design issue to keep the lights from shinning in the on coming traffic.
Where do you see the line? On the road? When you pull up in front of a building or wall?
