This is a Hoot!

This morning I had the local radio station on and I'm going about my business feeding the kids and myself. The radio is reporting on where the fire department was sent this week. I missed the date and time that they were called, but I did catch this much.

The Marysville Fire Dept. responded to a garage fire at XXXXX. The cause of the blaze was attributed to the individual's garage door catching on fire from him doing burnouts inside his garage.

A good candidate for the Darwin Award.

This is a Hoot!

It would have been really interesting if his brakes had failed.

This is a Hoot!

Oh that brings back memories. When i was in high school a guy that used to hang out with us was always hung up on doing burnouts. The guy was a nut and had a six cylinder nova that could only spin the wheels with a little help (mostly with water or oil). One day while we were outside his house he tells us he's got a cool idea and that he was going to put his car in the garage and to wait and watch. He proceeds to put the car in the garage and close the door, next thing we hear is the squealing of the tires and smoke riseing up past the windows. At this point we are laughing our xxx's off that is until his dad shows up(who btw is very religious)and opens the door and is belted by this big blast of smoke. As the smoke cleared he emerged to find his dad looking quite pissed, his dad says give me the fxxxxxx keys! At this point we jumped in our cars and left quickly.as for *wongy* wich is what we called him he did'nt get his car back for six months.

This is a Hoot!

Reminds me of the time a friend of mine just finished up his new pulling tractor with a v 12 Allison engine in it. He'd heard that if you put the tires on backward and spun them, it would really true up the tires and make them nice and round and give all the lugs the same height. We were in a warehouse condo where there are about 5 or 6 shops in one building. We pointed the tractor at the door and opened the door, backed a schoolbus up ato the tractor and chained it to the hitch. I sat in the school bus with the engine running and applied the brake. He laid on the throttle and we had instant tire smoke . I forgot to close the door of the bus and the bus was full of smoke right now but I was scared to move my hands to close the door.By the time gordie shut it off, we had the whole condo evacuated as everyone thought it was a major fire and all the other stalls filled with smoke. People could not see across their shop 4 stalls away. The things we do when we think we are young.
