Motorcraft parts [origin?]

This past week, I did some tune-up work on my son's 1984 F150 with 4.9L engine. He and I try to always use Motorcraft when possible. I replaced the sparkplugs, sparkplug wires, distributor cap, rotor, fuel filter and PCV valve.

After carefully examining all boxes and parts, this is what I found:
Sparkplugs - made in Mexico
Sparkplug wires - assembled in Mexico
Fuel filter - made in China
All other parts had no country of origin

Everything fit well and the truck runs well, but I was hoping to keep the truck "Made in the USA". I guess this is a sign of the times.

Most Motorcraft Parts are made in Mexico now days.

Yes it's the sign of the times unfortunately.

However about the Made in USA comment you mentioned. Even when these trucks were new, a lot of body parts were sourced from Canada. Assembeld in USA is more correct.

Yes, most of us who play with our cars and trucks have come to only buy from trusted suppliers. So much junk out there these days. I like to support my local NAPA or other local auto parts stores or hardware stores. At least your helping support local employees.

Here's my rotor from I think NAPA 11 years ago. Hopefully that simple part last...
