hey I got an 89 7.3 I have put 50k on it in the last year and I have been having a lot of trouble with the metering valve sticking in the ip the last few month and have went through several ips until i figured out that I can just clean the metering valve and go until it sticks again. i do run veggie oil but I ran for about 35k on veggie oil without a bit of trouble now it will just start dying when I let off the throttle and wont start back up unless I floorboard it my fuel is very clean and I run it through about 6 different 10 micron filters before it hits the engine I am really thinking that it has to do with heat and being to hot cause it has really goten bad I mean bad in the last week and we just started getting 100 deg weather the reason I say that to is the other night it was sticking really bad to the point it basically would not run so I swapped with another pump and pulled the top of the bad one and sure enough it was very sticky then 2 days later I pulled the top off the same pump after it had cooled and it was perfect and so put it back on and it been back and forth again I have tried running just diesel and that don't help.? any help would be awesome.can heat do that it also got worse in the last week perhaps cause I just turbod it that brings a lot more heat up to the top of the engine?Does veggie maybe get tacky or break down at a certain temp.
