I am having an issue cleaning the brake dust off of my wheels. Is there somthing special to get that crapp off of my wheels I scrubed with carwash soap and a wash mit and the same soap and a rag no luck.I got the truck all washed up but the wheels are horrible,It's like buying new cloth's and putting on old worn out boots. They are the factory ford steel wheels with the chrome cover not a hub cap.
I use black streak remover made for aluminum campers and a soft brush to clean my wheels.
There is an acid based wheel cleaner that was made for wire wheels That works great too. I believe its made by Eagle One.

I used to get this too when I was driving semi. When I would go to the truck wash, they would ask if I wanted the wheels and tanks cleaned with acid. It works great on non clear coated surfaces. After it was all washed off you just finished polishing or just go straight to wax to seal the metal back up. It seems like it was some sort of citric acid that they used and they would only leave it on for a few minutes before rinsing off.
For my truck rims and bumpers I just use mothers chrome and mag polish. It even works on really bad build up just takes a little more rubbing.
