front fuel tank ???
hey everyone ! i have a 97 f250 & have a fuel leak on my front tank just under the rear strap , was wondering if there is any way to patch the tank from the out side while the tank is in place ? also , if i did have to drop the front tank , would the truck still be drivable with just the rear tank ? thanks for any & all suggestions & help , its greatly appreciated

If you pull the tank tape the selector switch so you don't "accidently" flip it. Pull & replace the tank. May want to pull bed? Wish I did when I did my rear tank, ft may not be so bad, but IDK.

If the leak is not a gusher, just a seep, you should be able to repair it without removing. I've had to patch both my tanks, dirt and gravel between the shield wore pin holes in them. First used a mixable putty that you can get at the parts store to stop the leak. Then a little fiberglass and resin over that. Worked great for me.

thank you to every one ! yes DDPJ that's exactly what it is , a little pin hole from dirt . i did end up dropping the tank , took a buffing wheel on a grinder & went over the area , its just under the rear strap , i was going to paint the area with a rust killer/primer & use a 3M marine premium filler that is good for above or below the waterline over top & sand it down & give it a coat of tremclad ???? what do you guys think ? would the diesel fuel eat through the filler ? just a thought , any suggestions would be much appreciated
