What differential is this?
Greetings from Oregon, the shower me state. My best friend has an old late30's early 40's truck with this differential. It may have been swapped in at some point but none of our resources show this particular diff.

Looks like a 1942/47 'Commercial' (1/2 ton) rear axle, the axleshafts would have a 5.50" bolt circle pattern.
Who made it? Dunno, the 1928/47 parts catalog doesn't say, but I would guess it's a Spicer.

6 lug: The axle could be from a Dodge, Studebaker or a GM product. All these trucks were used by the USMC (and every other branch of the military).
By the time you served (thanks for serving), the trucks with this type of rear axle had been sold off as 'war surplus.'
