Hey everyone,
I'm looking at getting a new Expidition, but also looking at the (sorry ) Chevy Tahoe. I was wondering if the '03 has locking differentials? The web site isn't clear on this and in my experience salemen don't always know hwat they are talking about or tell the truth.
It seems like they have at least limited slip because they caution you not to run on dry pavement in 4H or 4L. Also if they do lock is that front and rear or just rear?
ANy 4x4 vehicle cautions against turning on dry pavement.. even with open diffs.. i do not believe the expedition OR tahoe offer anything above the standard limitsed slip rear end. IF this is important to you that you Have a vehicle with LOCKING differentials, then you will need to look elswhere, or perhaps ad an Airlocker to whatever you choose, then you also get an onboard air compresser!!!
If you get the Advantrac system for the 2003 Expedition then you effectively get a front to rear diff lock as part of the deal.
I've got the FX4 off-road package for my '03 and I've been *seriously* impressed with the way it's been able to handle snow, mud and rough terrain. You also get a stiffer ride and better handling into the bargain.
