FULL SIZE BRONCO
The 2009/11 F150 short bed Crew Cab has a wheelbase of 148" and is 232" long. Parks EZ .. in a city block.
Prior to murdering two peeps, OJ was a spokesman for Hertz. The Bronco's he drove (had several over the years) belonged to Hertz, not to him.
OJ took delivery of these Bronco's via "courtesy deliveries" thru the Ford Dealer in West LA, at that time Walker-Buerge Ford. Today, it's just Buerge.
Early Bonco's: 1966/77. The anemic 170 I-6 was the standard equipment engine originally, the 289 was optional. The 302 was first offered as an option in 1969, replacing the 289.
These Bronco's were outsold by as much as 10 to 1 by the Chevy Blazer. That changed in 1978, when Bronco's were first built off the F150 4WD platform.
If Ford ever attempted such a vehicle, they would likely screw it up like Toyota did with the FJ. This vehicle does NOT have to be luxurious and tow 9000 lbs. Like the Jeep, it needs to be simple, capable and fun. I don't think that fits well into Ford's business model.
Curbside Classic: 1978 Ford Bronco – Free Wheelin’!
Personally, I dislike that generation Bronco, in fact the whole 1973-9 F-series in general. That goes against the grain here, but I greatly prefer GM styling and Mopar powertrains in that generally depressing era for gearheads.
