F250 Back Up Camera
I have a 2011 F250 with the nav system and a back up camera. Is there an aftermarket camera I can use when the tailgate is off the truck? Ideally it would be something I could just plug in to the same coupling as the camera in the tailgate. I have a slide in camper for my truck and it would be handy to have a camera, maybe mounted on or near the license plate that I could use to help align the camper to the truck.

I am interested in doing this also. I found another thread (that I cannot find again) where the person wired into his plug and installed a 1/4 Omni Vision CMNOS 420 waterproof camera making his own mounts and said it worked great. He even had a wiring diagram as to the Ford wiring. I checked and you can buy the short harness that goes into the original tailgate for around $18.00 and you could wire into that not disturbing you original wiring at all. I haven't tried it yet but may do so when we get back from our next trip. If you do it let us know.
