hi everyone!
i have been having more trouble than normal to get it started on cold and not so cold mornings, if i plug it in it will start fine. i was on the street and suddenly it lost power as if it was not getting fuel, then it would get normal for a little bit or in the park position but when set on drive it would not have power. the next morning started just fine for a couple of minutes then turned off,
the truck has new fuel pump, new fuel filter, new gpr, i checked fuses, it will crank as much as i want to but it does not start, any help would be appreciated!!

What color cps is in it grey or black? That is what it sounds like to me. p0381 is glow plug indicator circuit failure.

it is the cam shaft sensor.

 

I replaced cam shaft sensor now truck runs in park with a rattle but when set in drive it does not respond when I press the accelerator

 

Where did you get the CPS? The ones from the parts stores tend to cause more problems than they fix. Stick with a Ford or International part when it comes to the CPS.

When you try to start without it being plugged in, does it smoke a bunch while cranking? If so, what color smoke? How many miles on the truck? How often has the oil been changed during it's life? Got a chip or tuner in the truck?

 

Got cps from autozone, truck has been off for a couple of hours, started it no smoke, 210206.7 miles oil changed some times late, the last time was 2000 miles ago, no chip or tuner, thank you!

 

People have trouble with the autozone CPS and most went back to ford. If that don't work it mit be the pedal senser. Dose it rev up?

 

When truck is in park it revs but when set in drive it does not. Just tried to start the truck this morning but it did not go, only cranks but won't start, no smoke.

 

the cps in the truck was black and the one i put in from autozone is grey, and also i just got a new one from ford and it is grey

 

i installed new cps from ford and truck wont start, it cranks but wont start, no smoke

 

What is your battery voltage? If you have been cranking on it and the batteries fall below 10.5 volts the injectors will not fire.

 

they have been fully charged and it cranks with no problem

 

Could it possibly be the UVCH? might be a lose connection somewhere...
