i just bought a 2007 f350, im told by a lot of people what a piece of #$% the 6.0L engine is i was just wondering, if any body knows more then i do or did i just make a grave mistake, i am VERY worried, somebody please help me figure this out
2007 was the last year for the 6.0. Most, if not all of the major issues with the 6.0 were worked out by 2005/2006. The 6.0 is a very good motor if properly maintained and will treat you well! Dont worry, you have a good engine with an even better truck!

thank you very, very much, you have just lifted a world of worry off my shoulders. i was in kelly blue book, and it was the same situation, all the guys were slamming the 2005 &2006 6.0L. i have fallen in love with this truck the day they came out with that body style and i swore that one day i would purchase one and now that i have, it was really tough to hear all that crap about it, its like finally being able to date the prettyiest girl in school, only to find out she has S.T.D's, and again thank you, she's a beauty and i dont ever want to let her go
Hey brother welcome to Ford and FTE. Dude you have an awsome engine. I have an 04 6.0l and I love it. Get in your maintance book and adhere to it. Change oil and fuelfilters on time. This is key to injector life. Head over to the 6.0l section a learn some stuff about the engine quirks and what not. Also in this section and the 6.0l section there is manuals on how to do stuff yourself and dianostics and what nots. Man enjoy that thing and don't worry to much about it. I would suggest egt{exhaust gas tempture}, eot{engine oil tempture} and ect{engine coolant tempture} gauges.
thanks again, i was pretty spooked, with all the horror stories, this truthfully has been my dream truck for many years and to hear all that, was devastating as soon as i get my pics of it uploaded, i will post them, thanks again
Being its an '07 you shouldnt have much to worry about. Early 6.0s were garbage. I had an '04 that went through 3 engines in under 37k. I literally wanted it to explode so I could get a different truck before ford finally bought it back in early '05.
The 6.0 is by far my favorite diesel engine ever, put in one of the best looking body's Ford's made (just my opinion of course) and are the BEST sounding trucks with an exhaust (another personal opinion yet again) I just got done putting a cat delete pipe on my dads 2005 today. 130,000 and no EGR problems or fuel injector problems, everything stock besides intake, they're very strong engines if properly cared for, my dad babies the crap out of his
