recently my ses light came on and I pulled the code which says it's a misfire code, what would cause this on a 7.3 PSD? I am also experiencing what seems like the batteries are weak so I have had the alt. tested and it is good so I replaced both batteries with the same result. I noticed both problems about the same time, can anyone help? I don't care to be raped by Ford.
very well could be, seems like after reading through a few hours of various posts that things are pointing to that thing and the truck is a 1999 with over 250K miles. I suppose that will be my next thing to check.
I am still learning, so does this mean I have a bad glow plug? or is there some sort of monitoring device that is going bad. Also, how can I test this?
I looked at the 1999 wiring diagrams, and it doesn't spell out any sensing for glow plugs like the later years, but I suspect it's a failing in the wiring diagram provider.
Sorry, but without further resources, I'm at a loss to help further. There ARE, however, some on here who can! If I recall, there were small-value shunts in series with each bank's glow plug feeds that provided sensing on the early ones. The diagrams I'm looking at don't show anything like them.
