steering questions?
New to site: having problem with my 79 shortbed 4x4, steering is starting to roam around, lots of play in wheel seems like steering column u-joint is worn my guess is this causes play in wheel, but the veering on the road has me stumped any suggestions, truck is basically stock.

Start with someone shaking the steering wheel back and fourth while you look over every joint it the steering. Then check ball joints by jacking a wheel up and put a bar under the tire and pry up while watching the joints closely. Then try shaking the wheel back and fourth while it's still jacked up.
