Just wanted to let everyone know that the v-10 lives long. Changed oil and serviced @340,000 on Friday and serviced the front and rear gears. Just got to get a new front seat because my rear has gotten the best of this one. Leaving for a 1000 mile road trip tomorrow.
We have a 16' double axle very heavy duty that I haul tools and equipment on. Just got back last week from a trip to Durham, NC with a load. It depends on what's going on but this trip will be without hauling anything. Right now there's very limited jobs going on in the Atlanta area so there is a lot to move around to jobs in the southeast. Have just always tried to keep it serviced and take care of it. I'm not a slow poke by any means I do know were the pedal bottoms out and I find it regularly. Pulled to NC and got 10.2with a load going and 12.1 coming back with the trailer empty. I've managed to get a little over 13 if I stay around 65 to 70 but usually I run 8 to 10 over most places. I'm usually in the upper 12's most of the time. Just like the old saying " if it quit today I couldn't complain". It's been a great truck and still is. I do pull my boat regularly with it also. Something that I do also is to run a can of seafoam once or twice a month since new. Don't know if this helps but it sure can't hurt. I've seen how it helps an outboard so I figure it has got to help with a v/10.
