I have a 2000 f350, my a/c wont stay cold all the time. It cycles from cold to warm while driving down the road. What would cause this? What should high and low side pressure be?
Do as Pop mentioned...check the air gap on the clutch. Also you might want to consider valving the hot water line to the heater core. Here is a thread on it...
I did Pop's air gap procedure on my compressor and it worked. Matter of fact my wife noticed it was so cold she told me to turn it down...Real simple fix.
I have been having the same issue,Ac will run 60f then drop to 45f then back...I have the hot water valve installed and installed a new clutch assy, gap is @25 thousandths....is that to much??that is how i read springerpops instruction..if to much, what should it be????This is running on regular AC, put it on max AC and it will stay constant @45f..last year it ran at 45f on regular ac
Havent had a chance to check comp clutch out. But I bought a new set of snap on ac gauges and decided to test them on my truck. High side was 280 psi and low side was 40 psi on high idle 1200 rpm on max ac and blower on high. Do the pressures sound right
At 100 F that seems about right. The hotter the temps, the higher the high-side. May be a little high -- do you know exactly how much R-134A is in your system?
