I see rear leaf springs that would fit my '73 F100 2WD priced from $132-$600 each. How much difference in quality is there, in your experience? Who would you buy from? Who would you stay away from?
Not sure I need new leafs, but if the price was right...
I've heard really good feedback from guys that bought Deaver springs, i can't personally vouch for them but the "shop talk" i hear is good, National spring is another option, i've used Eaton spring in the past and was very satisfied, just do your homework and get educated, every guy's gonna have a different opinion, just remember cheap isn't always cheap in the long run.
I'm needing rear springs on my truck. Ive got 2 broken leaves on the passenger side Ive got a set of springs out of a parts truck so, I'm just going to assemble my own out of the good ones I have. This truck never hauls much more than an engine block occasionally so they should hold up. Besides that, I'm an old recycler from way back (meaning cheap, if I have something that is still usable, I use it as long as I can) LOL...........
I can't give my experience with them, but I'm going to replace my leaf packs with JC Whitney. The rears are 2740# I think, and thats the same as JBG so I'm thinking they get them from the same place. JBG has never let me down on quality and if they are the same as JC Whitney's leafs I'll be nice and happy.
