I am in the market for some new shoes for my truck. I have no lift, but I have the snow plow option on my truck (if it makes a diffeance).
I am looking to put on Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac 295/65-18. Will they fit without any rubbing? I like the look and reviews these tires are getting. Any advice? Up here in Canada we are limited with the choices of brand and tires sizes.
I have 295/75/20 BFG's on my truck and they just barely rub my mudflaps. If I didnt have the flaps they would be fine.
I dont think I would want to get into any hardcore wheeling stuff cause I might run into trouble with some flex.
I would think you would be good go. Most tire shops can tell you as they have seen it all.All though I have heard that Costco up here wont mount a non-factory size tire on your rig anymore.
They seem to wear good. Especialy compaird to the nitto's I had in the past. That being said, personaly I wouldn't buy another set of these. They have really soft sidewalls I can't stand the way the truck fells with them. They look really good, but just too much movement in them going down the road.
Scotty - what load rating were yours and what pressure did you run in them? (Edit - Nevermind, I just looked it up and they are all E-rated in that size tire).
I have the load rated 275/65R20 inch tires and run them at 80 psig. I don't really notice any of that movement in mine. I guess I should say at the very first I might have felt a TINY bit of extra wander in the tires, but after awhile I didn't notice it. It may have just been that I was looking for it because of all the reviews. Maybe the narrower tire doesn't wander as much, maybe higher pressure - who knows.
Mark- I have tried different pressures and I still notice the side to side movement in them. Although I will say, that now that I have gotten use to it, I don't notice it near as much.
I've been looking at these tires for a bit now and still on the fence about them. I have heard the same about that movement from my bro in law. Gonna need to replace my BFG's in a few months.
