I've been doing Mustang shows for about 20 years and I've never been to one that didn't have a class for 'other Fords' or something like that. Most mustangers are 'Ford people" and like all of em.
I'm located in Austin, but I visit Lubbock regularly on account of my mom being from there, holler at me on AIM so I can get back atcha guys about the next time you'll be congregating.
Originally posted by willowbilly3 Up north they call people that stand on the street and beg for money panhandlers and I always wondered why. Does anybody know?
My cultural geography teacher told us this last semester. Showed us pictures and everything. But I forgot. I think that it had something to do with putting out a cup or something for people to put cash in. You may ask this in the general discusion forum. Someone there is bound to know.
So would anyone like one of the enty form for the August 2nd show? Anyone still watching this thread? I've been buisy lately, but I'm still up for it.
i've been watchin'... ain't no action... don't know if i have the money to go to abilene but i'm still tryin'.. aol's bein' stupid and my credit cards and checking stuff got stole so i'm going thru all that ... will write more later...
You don't need to pre-enter. Just show up at John Chandler Ford about 8-10 am and sign up then. I'll probably take my 72 F-250 4x4 and my 65 Mustang Fastback. Might take the 66 Ranger, just don't know at this point. May depend on the 'old lady' and what I can get her to drive. Look for the old guy in the white pith helmet.
So who all is going to be there Saturday? I guess for those of us going a long distance, and aren't wearing a helment , that we need some way of finding each other. I guess those of us who go are gonna "wing it" as far as what we may or may not do (like eating together or something).
It doesn't sound like a many of of FTE'ers are going to attend, if there's any problem about going don't worry about missing out on anything. This may not turn out at all, as far as a get together is concerned.
Well, hope to see some of you guys Saturday.
Clayton
ps. I'm not taking my pickup. The registrations out, and I won't have time to get it renewed before Saturday.
well, obviously i couldn't make it. i had all of 5.00 to last the entire weekend, gas included and that's by no means enough to get me to amarillo and back in any truck much less a 79. i have a friend bringing his 78 down from illinois in about two weeks just to goof around. i still haven't heard anything about ANYTHING going on in lubbock which doesn't surprise me. it's getting to the point where it's too hot to sit around and do nothing much less get out and do anything before about 7:30 or 8 pm. i'm just glad i work 11 am to 7:30 pm everday.. right through the hottest! i will keep looking and talking to people .. let us know how it all went will ya. again, i'm sorry i couldn't make it and hope to get together with everyone soon enough.
So, I'm guessing we never got together then huh.. well I live in Lubbock now so maybe I'll be able to find something next year.. so how're all the panhandlers doing??????
You know what's really cool? I went to the dentist a coupla weeks ago to have a wisdom tooth out and he has all his rooms decorated. The one they put me in had mustang models all over the place, it was really cool. I looked at all the trophies and plaques and things, and apparently my dentist has won some of the awards at the John Chandler show for his mustang. How cool is that??? I wish I would have gone. Maybe this year. I think it'd be kinda funny to be running around and run into my dentist. HAHA. Everybody's got hobbies and I just thought that was cool. Anyway, is there anyone still around?
I'm still sitting here reading FTC and working on the 66 Ranger. It's gonna have disc brakes and a C-6 real soon. Probably finish up sometime next week. May take it to Amarillo for the Make-a-Wish car show in a couple weeks for a shakedown cruise.
that's cool. good luck. I finally got the c6 in my 79 rebuilt last year, and she's still running great after a year no problems. I took her to Abilene to get the furniture for my apartment last May so I'll be up to making a trip this year to meet everyone.. even though I won't be doing any showing with my truck..... Maybe we can try something for this year ?... any ideas ?
