It probably the rubber seal inside the compression fitting. I think they come with IP install kits.

Go to a diesel repair shop they should have them.....
You need 1 for the lift pump line at the filter header......3/8ID
You need 2 for the filter header to IP line (one each end) they are 5/16 ID.

They are only snugged up....to seal. Do not over tighten....

They go inside the cap and push on the flare..

the autozone? kit is 10$ comes with 3 fuel line seals and 1 for the ip to oil gear side. it also has the 3 small bolts that go through the gear in to the ip.

oh and if you cant use a pick/nail etc to unscrew the seal from the fitting a couple 5 second blasts from a torch then get the seal real cold and it will come out. when the seal cools after being torched it shrinks. it doesnt take much heat to do it either. after the second try i let it sit overnight and when i came back the next day i could easily use a nail to hold it in place and unscrew the fitting so that it forced the seal out.

That line had set empty and dry for a few days so i didnt have to worry about lighting up any fuel doing that.
