DC power or Mechman

DC power or Mechman
I was going to install a second alternator on my truck, but upon the realization of how involved it would be I decided to go with a high output model to replace the stocker on my truck. I'm looking at either a DC power or Mechman, both have the same output, and are the same price, before I make my decision I wanted to get some input from some of the guys on here to see if any of y'all have installed either of these on your truck and how well it performs as compared to the stock unit?

I don't know about either brand - any chance you can post some links to exactly what you're looking to get? I bought a 200A unit from Eagle Auto Electric and have had no problems in the 5 or 6 months it's been installed. Whichever way to go, be sure to use a heavy 4ga power wire.

I can vouch for the Mechman unit. I have run them in other cars and I have an old racing buddy that just went to work for them. I am trying to talk him out of unit for "testing" purposes. I know they stand behind their work and will go the extra mile to make you happy.

I think I'm going to lean towards them too, I realized that they are actually 50$ cheaper with the same output, and i know someone with 4 of them in their tahoe that have a total output in excess of 1300 amps and they have no porblems. If i go with the unit they offer that's 270 amps of output would a 4 gauge power wire from it to my battery suffice or would I want to run 1/0 gauge?
