I have a 1982 F250 4x4 300l6 without air. I picked up an 82 F150 4x4 302 (blown engine). I will fix it and sell it someday, but for now I am going to strip all the air out and put it in the F250. The F250 has a nice looking and in excellant black dash. The F150 has an excellant "Baby poop yellow - ugly" dash.
The question is: what kind/type of black paint to use on the ugly dash. What type of prep and product/s to use before painting?
I know there is a body person out there to answer this!!
By the way the 82 is a daily driver at 500 miles a week to work!
Thank God it is a Ford or I would be walking several mile a week to a phone!
Remember that Ford put heaters in the rear window to defrost them! Dodge put them in the windshield to free the wipers! and Chevy is going to put heaters on the trunk and tailgates to keep people from freezing their hands when pushing!!!
I am not a body person, yet, but I have seen spray cans for painting, or dying, vinyl. If I'm not mistaken I saw some at wal-mart. I have never used any myself, but I'm sure they give good instructions on the can. Let me know how it turns out.
