351 windsor header help?
Ok, I have read on here about all the questions and answers to using the right headers for a 351 windsor in a 1970 ford pickup. My problem is this. I built a 427 stroker to put into my shortbox pickup and i put a toploader four speed in it also. Using the eleven inch clutch so i have the bigger bellhousing also. Im curious if anyone has figured out what would work? I have tried a set from sanderson's and they didn't seal and the driver side hit my spark plugs because they weren't made for the angled spark plugs. Oh and yes i am using RHS aluminum heads. I also tried the 302 long tubed headers for 69/79 f-100 trucks but that also didn't work on the passenger side because of the bellhousing is too wide around the starter so the header would not come up enough to bolt on. So i chopped the two up and made a set out of the both. Pain in the butt and just checking if anyone knows a good pair of shorties that'l work or even longtubes. I seen its been years since anyone has posted anything about this and curious if there are any answers. Also, this is manual linkage for the clutch too so NO cable. Any information would be great. Thanks.
Do an advanced search for "351W headers" in the Dentside forum and you'll get some hits. I read one FTE'er used a set of Ford Racing shorties (80-95 w/ 5.8l) and they worked for him. I think the main issue with your setup will be the clutch linkage/Z-bar/bell crank or whatever term you may call it.
The 351W has a one-inch taller deck height and is slightly wider due to the heads. In my head, 302 long tubes would have worked if the primaries are extended for the increase in height and slightly angled to compensate for the increase in width.
An option may be Hedman Elite headers for 80-95 1/2-tons with the 5.8 that are 3/4-length... longer than shorties but shorter than long tubes. Again, the issue of the manual linkage will likely rear its ugly head.

Yea i was kind of wondering about those and also the 95 cobra R supercomp headers looked rather close too. Those would work the best for the angled plugs too. But if anyone else has any suggestions please let me know. Always good to hear what everyone has gone through.
