High pressure line leaking
48K relatively trouble-free miles have caused me to be in denial about the potential size of this illness that has developed in my '01 Limited 4X4 Excursion. I noticed an air leak noise in the passenger-side rear wheel well 2 days ago. Found that the noise is coming from the top of 4 aluminum lines with plastic sheathing around them. There is also a green fluid leaking from this line (not coolant). The air-leak noise IS STILL THERE. It is clear that the line has finally sprung this leak after constantly rubbing against the steel shackle that houses the leaf springs. Is this a common problem? What are the repair options? Thanks!

The only lines I know of back there are the coolant hoses to the rear heat and the AC lines to the rear AC. Sounds to me like your AC line has blown.
If you want the noise to stop just wait. The copmpressor will stop working when it senses the coolant pressure is too low.
If it is the AC line, then replacement is the only thing I can think of as a positive fix.
I have never heard of this as a problem before. Just make sure the lines are routed properly when you get it repaired.
