In my "new" 1986 F-250 was a bad radio so I pulled it and tossed it and then i looked in the dash. It was a MESS!!! Could someone tell me what wires are for what? There is what appears to be house speaker wire run for speakers but I dont know what everything else is. It appears that someone cut the wires and spliced another connector into it and one half of that is just wrapped in electrical tape.
Yellow/black hash == switched, fused radio power
Light blue/red-stripe = dimmable backlighting
Green/yellow-stripe = always-on power for clocks & memories
Black = ground
Left/right speaker wires vary in color but i seem to remember lots of pink and green.
