I have determined the wiper governor is toast. yet another thing that needs fixed cause high speed only wipers blows. So I might be able to get my hands on a used part, can anybody tell me what years or p/n will work on a 92?
Should be "89" thru "94", Rangers and Explorers, since the interior parts are the same. Just to make sure you could check with a parts store to see if it is the same or not. They should tell you even if you don't buy anything from them. If it's just the delay control box other years may fit as well.
I removed the diode I thought was bad and as it turns out it wasn't. I removed a couple other components and they all tested ok. I failed to check the ground circuit going to the governor, so today I did and after I found a good ground (wasn't easy) it checked ok. So what the heck put the governor back in and now it works perfectly. If I had to guess I would say there was some terminal fretting (fancy word for corrosion) at the connector. Total cost $3 for a solder sucker.
