Those are few and far between my friend.

Welcome to FTE!

I noticed that this was your very first post, so I thought I would just send out a nice warm FTE welcome and give some advice.

You should go through FTE and find which chapter you could potentially belong to on the main page where there is a list of the forums you can chat in.

You'll find your state's/province's name as one of the forums, which you can ask to join once you enter in and look through the initial threads that have been stickied (the threads at the top of the forum are stickied threads).

From there, you can merely post up that you're asking for a tailgate for a 78 F250 stepside, and someone can help you from there.

If this all sounds very confusing to you, just say so, and I can help you out in a much more simple manner. All you would need to do is tell me your location (state/province) and I can direct you from there.

Look again, see if you can find a Flareside tailgate that is 54 13/16" long.

AFAIK, the only Flareside tailgate being reproduced is: B7C-8340700-A, which is 49 13/16" long.

This Flareside tailgate was used on 1957/72 F100 Flaresides on the 114/115" wheelbases only.

And, it's not the same as any 1973/79 Flareside. All 1973/79 Flaresides use the 54 13/16" long tailgate.

My bad, sometimes I get too eager to help........I should have read the post better!

I was not even aware of a flairside box of that width! I have an F250 8' stepside of 1960'S vintage and a mid 70's short wheelbase stepside box that a lot of the parts including the tailgate interchange.

Was this box used on a dually ?
