I'm looking at the intercooler kit from GTS, and was looking for input from anyone out there. They seem like a decent price for everything, just wondering about fit-up. I already went through the fitup nightmare of buying an MBRP downpipe, so I'd like to research a little this time before I do the intercooler.
Or is it better to get the banks kit? Has anyone else used the banks kit?
Last question, what about the injectors from GTS? Any experiences out there?
GTS is a "local" guy for me and while I've never personally bought anything from him, I know a few people who have. I know a couple guys running his injectors that haven't been complaining. I do know he was having problems keeping costs down on his IC kits.
ive installed a banks kit on my friends truck with him and i personally thought it was top quality but your also paying for the name. very expensive but worth it id say
thanks guys, glad I didn't place an order. I'm sure Rosewood is where I'll get my injectors, and maybe I'll spring for the banks kit after that.
From what I've read the intercooler seems to pretty much be necesssary for towing with stage 1's. I was thinking of getting the tuner from DP probably after I have the hardware installed.
I have not heard much negative about the work GTS does on the cooler kits and injectors. His customers seem to be happy.
I personally would be cautious dealing with someone that does not do the work full time, though. GTS sells mortgages and does cooler kits and injectors as side work. There's nothing really wrong with that except he doesn't actually have his own injector shop and works out of someone else's place.
Do you really want to buy anything from someone who has not taken the next step in the last 10 years to go on his own? Seems kind of fishy to me....
Anyway, years back I bought a Banks cooler second hand for a pretty good price, then I got in on the group buy for the Banks tube kit. It all went together easily and perfectly, really a nice set-up and would not hesitate to do it again.
yes, you can do it cheaper, like buy SD pipes and cooler, but the price for the bolt-in set-up was close enough for me vs taking the time and making all that stuff work.
Also, there is a guy that has been selling OBS IC pipes on Ebay. They are made to fit the OBS and from what I've heard guys that have bought them have been happy. The hard part is finding the E99 or Banks spyder for a reasonable price.
