I have a 96 with a 5.8. I accidentally broke the black cap off the side of my idle air control valve. It's a little cap on the side that was covering a small hole. It seems to run fine without the cap. Should I plug it, let it ride, or get a new one?
You definatel want that fixed and plugged in. If you can fix it, go for it as longas its not gonna fall right apart. If its beyond fix, go get a new one, theyre around $45-$50 at the LPS
Hey thanks for reply. The sensor is plugged in and seems to be functioning fine. I do need that little hole plugged though correct? Not sure I understand. Thanks
There is a small round black plastic cap on the side.Actually it's on top when the iac mounted on the engine. The plastic cap broke off and exposed a machined hole. Hey I ended up making my own engine coolant housing out of plumbing fittings to get me by unitl I get to the junk yard. Were you the guy that responded last week about that?
